Jeopardy! champ Yungsheng Wang admits to using TV stardom for major advantage in his attorney career

JEOPARDY! champion Yungsheng Wang has been milking his appearances on the game show for all it's worth.

Yungsheng revealed on Jeopardy's Champions Wildcard Thursday episode that his success on the program had been somewhat helpful in his career.

At the beginning of the game, game show host Ken Jennings, 49, took a moment to ask Yungsheng and his competitors, Garrett Marcotte and Andrew Chaikin, a personalized question.

"Does being a Jeopardy champion help in the law? Does it give you any clout with clients or courts ever?," Ken asked Yungsheng, who is a deputy public defender attorney.

The former Louisiana resident answered honestly, explaining that being a competitor on Jeopardy had come with some perks.

Yungsheng divulged that once, he had a "difficult client" who refused to listen to him and slammed him for not being a "real lawyer" and knowing how to do his job correctly.

When he finally was at his "wits' end," he informed his client that he, in fact, did know what he was doing because he was a Jeopardy winner.

Yungsheng's revelation was enough to capture his client's attention.

However, it wasn't enough to gain his client's trust because Yungsheng disclosed that his client wanted to know how many Jeopardy wins he had.

When Yungsheng told his client he "had three," his client told him a "real lawyer would have had four wins."

COMING OUT ON TOP

Yungsheng secured another win on tonight's episode, progressing into Jeopardy's Finals Tournament.

He triumphed in Final Jeopardy, doubling the $18.6K he had at that point to $37.2K.

Garrett waged all of his earnings, $4.8K, and lost them after he answered the last game show question wrong.

Coming in second place was Andrew.

Though he waged and lost almost half of the $26.6K he had acquired, he still was able to pocket $15,999.

The Final Jeopardy clue that made or broke the contestants was: "Of the Big 4 U.S. airlines, the four that each have over 15% of the domestic market, it's the youngest."

Garrett and Andrew got the clue wrong, both answering: "What is Delta?"

Meanwhile, Yungsheng got it right, answering, "What is Southwest?"

Yungsheng beat out his competition remarkably.

JEOPARDY! SCHEDULE EXPLAINED

Once Champions Wildcard ends, Jeopardy! will finally get into the tournaments they wanted the big season 40 to start with.

Starting December 19, the 2023 Tournament of Champions season will finally begin.

There be the Second Chance Tournament for last year's most snubbed nonwinners, another Champions Wildcard for the best brief winners of last year, and finally, the actual Tournament of Champions.

Then there will be the Jeopardy Invitational Tournament, which will populate the next hotly anticipated Jeopardy! Masters.

Execs also shared earlier that there will be just 16 weeks of regular gameplay to end the season as a result.

They confirmed regular episodes with new contestants won't be back until April 2024.

At that point, champion Lucas Partridge, who won the last non-tournament game in July 2023, will return.

Theoretically, so will a still-missing Mayim Bialik after nearly a year off, though her future is still uncertain.
