PEAKY Blinders fans were outraged at Tommy Shelby's "nasty" sex scene which saw him hook up with the enemy.
Cillian Murphy's character was seen bedding Diana Mitford, lover of Sir Oswald Mosley, after she organised a rendez-vous in a hotel room.
After their sordid night of passion, which left Peaky Blinders viewers aghast, Diana, played by Amber Anderson, quipped their antics were: "The English aristocracy's way of shaking hands."
She then proceeded to rub Tommy's wife's face in it by telling her about their affair and how she had "sampled" her spouse.
Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the antics in the penultimate Peaky Blinders episode, with one writing: "Not Diana wanting to have sex with tommy 💀 STOP IT NAZI SCUM."
Another surmised: "Me during Tommy and Diana’s sex scene🤢" as a third wrote: "Sex is a handshake to Diana..its a solid business tactic tbf."

One then raged: "I did not need to see Tommy having sex with that nasty woman #PeakyBlinders."
Another argued: "And once again, that sex scene meant ABSOLUTELY nothing.
"What the f**k was the point in taking Diana in that direction with Tommy??? #PeakyBlinders (S6EP5)."
Yet one BBC viewer was quick to suggest: "Because it sparked the drama in the last scene and Tommy’s hatred for Mosley and Diana. And Tommy will kill Mosley in the next episode."

Perhaps reflecting the tone for most viewers, one then surmised: "Is Tommy seriously having sex with this b***h? #PeakyBlinders."
The real-life politician Oswald Mosley is played by actor Sam Claflin in the BBC drama.
Tommy Shelby tried to bump him off in season five but his plan was foiled.
Oswald and Diana were linked to Adolf Hitler due to their wedding, with show director Anthony Byrne telling UPROXX in October last year: "Not long after the 30s, he [Oswald] married Lady Diana Mitford, who herself was quite a notorious human being.
"Their wedding was at Joseph Goebbels’ summer house, one of the nastiest Nazis ever, and Adolf Hitler was in attendance, so that is a life event I would like to portray on Peaky Blinders."
The real Oswald Mosley rose to fame as an MP in the 1920s before achieving notoriety in the 1930s as the leader of the British Union of Fascists.
Meanwhile, Peaky Blinders fans were just as stunned as Billy Grade had his genitals mutilated in excruciating scenes on his show return.
With the programme's final episode now on the horizon, director Anthony Byrne has promised viewers an "epic, feature-length" finale.
In a recent interview, Byrne confirmed that the final Peaky Blinders episode will clock in at an impressive 81 minutes long - with the Ten O'Clock News scrapped to make way for it.
He told the Radio Times: "It's such a Peaky thing to do for the last hurrah. It's the 10:22 news for one night only.
"It feels very, very different to the rest of the season. It feels very, very different to anything we've done before.

"It's very epic in scope. It feels like a film - it's a kind of dry run for the feature film."
The show is already setting the scene for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.
