Woman in her 40s dies after falling out of the back of a car and suffering fatal injuries

A WOMAN in her forties tragically died after falling from the back of a car on Saturday, police confirmed today.

Paramedics were rushed to the horror fall in Colney, Norfolk, just after 6.30pm.

The woman is understood to have been in the backseat of a black Peugeot before plunging to her death in Earlham Road.

It is not yet clear why she fell from the car - and cops are now desperate for witnesses to come forward.

Norfolk Police said in a statement: "Emergency services were called at 6.36pm to the incident in Earlham Road in Colney following reports a woman had fallen out of the rear passenger seat of a black Peugeot sustaining serious injuries.

"Sadly the woman, in her 40s, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene."

Cops said closures were put in place at the Watton Road/Colney Lane junction, Wilberforce Road junction and the roundabout at Dodderman Way, Tollgate Way and Threescore Road until Sunday morning.

The force is now urging anyone who saw the car before the crash to contact them as soon as possible.
